A series of high-profile suicide bombing has devastated London and stymied British Intelligence. But none of that matters to Danny Watts and his ex-spy grandfather Fergus, who are living peacefully incognito in Spain—that is, until their cover is blown in a botched assassination attempt.

Suddenly, Danny and Fergus are forced to return to London and into the swirl of current events. Their only hope of clearing the family name is to break into Intelligence headquarters and steal the files that prove Fergus was framed by his commanding officer. But when Fergus takes a bullet in the leg, it’s up to Danny to do the job alone. Is Danny up to the task? And what is the Watts family’s connection to the bombings?

With a story ripped from today’s headlines, and filled with authentic details from Andy McNab’s experiences in British Special Ops, Payback continues the explosive action that made Traitor a YA action fan favorite.

Fergus walked casually along one side of the road; Danny was on the other, holding back by around a hundred and fifty metres and watching for the moment when his grandfather disappeared into the darkness. Smart detached houses with nice prim gardens and large estate cars in the drive lined the road. Danny had the sports bag slung over one shoulder; he kept his head down as he walked. As Fergus passed the Wyevale Garden Centre he turned left and melted into the darkness. Danny crossed the

Next to the flag.’ He reminded himself of the golden rule: ‘Head down, eyes on the ball, eyes on the ball.’ He pulled back the club, swung down with his mighty strength and heard the sand wedge make contact with the ball. It went high into the air and Kev watched it descend onto the green and begin to roll. Quickly. It went past the flag and rolled on. And on. Without losing speed it crossed the wide green and then disappeared off

And I know this for sure: you and Danny ain’t been climbing no mountains, and whatever’s wrong with your leg, it

Cautiously, he crawled out and went back to the PC; before leaving he had to remove the CD and close it down. As he looked at the screen, the SECRET: ULTRA page suddenly disappeared and the screen went blank. Danny stared and felt a surge of panic. If his computer had lost the page, then surely

On the other side of the locked door, Elena heard a guard shuffling about in the corridor and the fear increased. Fergus was dead, her dad had disappeared again; there was only Danny now. She wanted him there with her. Some time later – Elena couldn’t tell how long – the door was unlocked and opened. A guard stood in the doorway, wearing a pistol on a belt holster. He stared at Elena
