Kim Wright Wiley has penned 22 editions of this book and really knows her stuff when it comes to planning an Orlando vacation and taking in the attractions at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld. And for this edition she is once again joined by her daughter Leigh Wiley Jenkins. They combine their wit and wisdom with insights from almost 500 families to create a guide that's thoroughly updated, user-friendly, and fun.
Expanded Coverage: The guide includes new hotels and restaurant menus, as well as complete coverage of the new and improved Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom theme park.
Indispensable Trip Planning Tools:  Charts and star ratings make comparing hotels and restaurants a breeze. Lists grouping attractions by age group and charts with vital stats on all the amusements make picking must-see sights simple. Checklists allow planning, packing, and devising on-the-ground itineraries to go smoothly.

In-the-Know Tips: This book is chock-a-block with time- and money-saving tips and insider's secrets, and every ride or venue has a scare-factor assessment.

Mediagenic Author:  Kim Wright Wiley is an undisputed authority on Walt Disney World.  Her knowledge about every aspect of planning a Disney trip is phenomenal. Both she and her daughter Leigh Wiley Jenkins are available to appear in the media to share it.
Everything Disney and Beyond: Separate chapters on Universal, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and area restaurants and nightspots make all of Orlando accessible. A special cruising chapter thoroughly covers Disney ships and cruise-vacation options.

Portofino Bay has eight restaurants and lounges, a full-service spa, three swimming pools, and Campo Portofino, a supervised children’s activity center, which is open in the evenings year-round with extended daytime hours during the on-season. Like the others at Universal, this is a Loews resort, so the service is top-notch. Of the three resorts, Portofino Bay is the most posh, with the most amenities geared to adults

when live reggae bands play. Emeril’s. The most upscale and expensive option at CityWalk, Emeril’s offers amazing food, such as crabmeat-crusted tournedos of beef and citrus-glazed duck. The restaurant is never stuffy or overly formal and is, in fact, the perfect spot for a parents’ night out. It never hurts to make reservations before you leave home, so call 407/224–2424 to get your name on the list. The Groove. The most high-energy dance club at CityWalk, the Groove hosts a variety of theme

at Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. But for now, at least, the prevalence of the princesses is undeniable and most little girls come under its spell. Bring costumes from home if you have them. If not, prepare to purchase. And the big trend in attractions is toward more interactive experiences. In existing attractions, more and more queues have games and entertainment to help you pass the time. And, based on the popularity of shows such as the Jedi Training Academy at Hollywood Studios and

the expanded section of Fantasyland. At lunch it’s a counter-service location, offering salads, soups, sandwiches, and other standard lunch fare ordered from electronic kiosks. Each family is given a rose-shaped marker that they take to a table; the food is then served to them there via a rather elegant food trolley. Note that this is not a character-dining venue, so don’t expect to meet Belle or any of her princess friends. Another caveat: The word is out that Be Our Guest is a gorgeously

Banquet Hall in Norway—Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets in a castle setting. At present Snow White, Mulan, Mary Poppins, Belle, Aurora, and Jasmine show up at breakfast. At lunch and dinner you’ll meet Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Alice in Wonderland, Pocahontas, and Ariel—who, we’re happy to report, is walking just fine in a ball gown. The princesses are sometimes reshuffled, so if your child has a preference, confirm who’s expected to appear. Breakfast: adults $40–$47, children (3–9) $25–$28.
